(THE WORLD) justified, left-aligned, centered, right-aligned, in which the artists redraw the map of the world in accordance with layout formats (justification) used in word processing software (…) casts a critical light on the power relations instituted through the geographical distribution of states: for example, the view of the northern hemisphere as the zone of rich countries and therefore the most economically powerful. With this work Detanico / Lain are pursuing their reflections on the role of language and its symbolic and physical position in our societies and its multiple functions as communications tools, but also as an instrument for reading and the reflection of different cultures.
