Aberración Cromática (Fiebre), 2019

Drawing inspiration from Derek Jarman’s observations in “Chroma, A Book of Color” during his experiences with illness, Aberración Cromática (fiebre) begins with a woman printing her own image on paper. The setting is minimal, with a white background, a table, a sheet of paper, scotch pieces, a silk screen, and a pot of black and red ink. The hands of the artist, visible in every shot, execute the technical printing gestures. The resulting portrait reveals a red layer forming a curved, repetitive pattern. Red spots of varying sizes on the screen-printed image create the illusion of the body being covered in the same pattern, suggesting a contamination of diverse representations.
