MISSION

The Phenomenon Grant program is committed to supporting art projects by individuals, collectives, and non-for-profit organizations that engage with queer, feminist, anti-colonial, and other emancipatory art practices in Greece.

As the world faces the rise of authoritarian and genocidal forces and the dismantling of social justice advancements, the program seeks –with a sense of urgency– to support voices that critically and ethically engage with these issues, create spaces of resistance through artistic expression, reimagine futures beyond exclusion, persecution, and domination, and open pathways toward collective liberation. We prioritize collaborative endeavours rooted in Greece while forging connections with the global majority, promoting networks of translocal solidarity and interconnected struggles.

FUNDING

The program is organized by the Phenomenon Association and supported by the Kerenidis Pepe Collection, who has pledged a budget of 60,000 euros over the next 3 years to support grants of 5,000 and 10,000 euros for one- or two-year initiatives. With a commitment to expanding the program’s impact, we aim to raise additional funds within the same period and work to connect this program with like-minded initiatives worldwide.
