MISSION

Created in 2025, the Phenomenon Grant is a yearly grant program that supports art projects in Greece with grants ranging from €5,000 to €10,000 for individuals, collectives, and non-profit organizations engaged with queer, feminist, anti-colonial, and other emancipatory art practices.

The Phenomenon Grant aims to support critical phases of artistic development, enabling experimentation, research, collaboration, and the realization of new and ongoing projects. In a context marked by rising authoritarianism, genocidal forces and the dismantling of social justice advancements, the program seeks to support voices that critically and ethically engage with these issues, create spaces of resistance, reimagine futures beyond exclusion, persecution, and domination, and open pathways toward collective liberation. We pay particular attention to collaborative endeavours rooted in Greece that are built on connections with the Global Majority, promoting networks of translocal solidarity and interconnected struggles. 

FUNDING

The program is organized and supported by Kerenidis Pepe, which has pledged a total budget of €60,000 over 2025–2027 to support grants for one- or two-year initiatives, with an amount ranging between €5,000 and €10,000 – based on the application’s actual funding needs. Each edition of the grant will award a minimum of €20,000 to support two to four grantees. 

In 2025, the Phenomenon Grant received a total of 193 applications and awarded three grants of €8,500 each to Athens Museum of Queer Arts (AMOQA), Forensic Architecture Initiative Athens (FAIA) and Theo Panagopoulos. Visit our grantee page to know more about the selected projects.
