Eight–8
Given: 1. The Momentary Immobility, 2. The Cracks, 2021

EIGHT independent space for art and politics presented an in-situ installation by the artistic duo VASKOS and a short performance in the public space by the theatrical group Nova Melancholia. This is seen as a way for art to exist within the multiplicity and diversity of a core, that is covered and at the same time also revealed by the alternation of collective structures. 

Vassilis Noulas and Kostas Tzimoulis, members of the creative team of EIGHT, curated the work of VASKOS, the artistic duet of Vassilis Noulas and Kostas Tzimoulis, as well as invited the group of Nova Melancholia (Vassilis Noulas, Kostas Tzimoulis and Despina Chatzipavlidou) to present a performance. 

EIGHT participated in φαινόμενα with the proposal titled “Given: 1. The Momentary Immobility, 2. The Cracks”, a game of identities and of equivocal identifications, of revelations as well as of concealments, with reference to the work of Marcel Duchamp. 

The poetic processes of EIGHT meet the community of φαινόμενα on the hospitable island of Anafi in order to turn into a sympoiesis.
