Crows have usually been used as symbols of death and bad luck, but for Chopper, the crow represents uniqueness, unapologetically standing out, and being loud. This piece draws from his memories of working in Koh Kood, an island in the eastern Gulf of Thailand. “After the exhausting work of housekeeping, I walked outside the guest building, and among the green of the woods and the blue of the sky, I saw these black, shiny creatures cawing and flying. The beauty and absurdity of that imagery brought me a moment of epiphany.”
